Support for Students

The Helpdesk offers network and basic software support as well as malware removal for undergraduate students. While we are unable to resolve every issue that we see, we will attempt to troubleshoot any issue you may be having with your computer and, if necessary, refer you to someone who can resolve the issue.

We will make room visits when necessary. If you have a laptop, we prefer you bring your computer to the Helpdesk in room LL25 of Phillips Memorial Library. We will fix it there. We do not offer a drop-off service center. If you wish to have your computer looked at or fixed by the Helpdesk, you must be present for the duration of the repair.

We do not provide hardware repair or advanced software support. While we make every attempt to resolve any issue, we may need to refer the student to an outside vendor if a problem falls into one of those two categories. If the computer is under warranty, we will refer the student to the respective vendor.

We are unable to support computers running Linux or computers that are unable to run current versions of Microsoft Windows or macOS.

We are only able to provide basic networking support for Chromebooks.

All services are subject to our Indemnity Agreement. If you plan on bringing your system in for service, please print and complete this form beforehand and bring it with your machine.
